Breakfast

Sausages need steady heat, bacon needs watching.

Sausages and bacon are high-search air fryer foods, but fat, thickness and basket style change the timing.

Timing guide

Planning numbers.

Use these as a starting point, then check temperature, texture and doneness before serving.

Best method Single layer, not stacked
Temperature 180C for sausages, 180-200C for bacon
Typical time Sausages 10-15 minutes, bacon 6-10 minutes
Turn Turn sausages halfway; check bacon early
Target finish Sausages cooked through and piping hot
Method

Cook it in order.

  1. Place sausages or bacon in a single layer.
  2. Cook sausages at 180C and turn halfway through.
  3. Cook bacon at 180-200C, checking early because thin rashers can overcook fast.
  4. Check sausages are cooked through in the centre before serving.
  5. Drain excess fat carefully after the basket has cooled enough to handle safely.
Avoid

Common mistakes.

Stacking rashers or sausages.

Using bacon timing for much thicker back bacon or very thin streaky bacon without checking.

Serving sausages browned outside but underdone in the centre.
